The Original Property Game

Patented in 1904 by Elizabeth Magie to demonstrate the economic consequences of land monopolies. Roll two dice, move around the circuit, buy the lot you land on, and collect rent from anyone who lands on yours. First to complete five circuits with the most wealth wins.

1904 Patent Rules

The game as patented. 40 spaces, 22 numbered lots with rent equal to the lot number and price at ten times that. Wages on passing the start, jail on landing, franchises for utilities. Wealth display shows cash, lots, and circuit progress.
